About Seabridge South
The Community of Seabridge South is comprised of over 100 residential homes located in Ormond-By-The-Sea, Florida in Volusia County. Situated on a 1/2 mile wide barrier island with the Intracoastal to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the climate is enjoyable year round.
The Community is located behind the Seabridge North and Seabridge South Condominiums when entering from A1A onto Sand Dollar Drive. The Community of Seabridge South has no affiliation with the condominiums. Entering the community from John Anderson is by Sea Gull Drive. It can be confusing because there is also a Seabridge North residential subdivision located several streets to the north.
The sun rises over the Atlantic and sets over the Halifax river (intracoastal waterway) providing spectacular scenes. The pristine beach is a short walk and accessible with a beach walkover right across from the Main A1A entrance. The walkover has sitting benches.
Residents have created a canoe/kayak launch along the Halifax river right across from the Sea Gull entrance.
A public boat ramp is less than 1/2 mile to the north on High Bridge road. Fishing is allowed from boats, the banks of the river, or from any of the bridges crossing the waterway. Some of the species that can be found include: trout, catfish, flounder, sheepshead, tarpon, snook, black drum, mangrove snapper and red drum.
The Community is along the Ormond Scenic Loop & Trail, a 30+ mile double loop of roadways traversing some of the most beautiful and diverse natural scenery remaining in all of northeast Florida. There is ready access to the Atlantic Ocean, North Peninsula, Tomoka and Bulow Creek State Parks as well as numerous city and county parks. The roadway view includes unobstructed vistas of two rivers, creeks and marshes, barrier island dunes and beach, and historic dwellings. The area is home to six different ecological zones providing a fascinating variety of wildlife and scenery.
